About the Game

Cursed Blade is an action RPG dungeon crawler on Roblox developed by ESSENTIAL RPG. Currently in Alpha with weekly content updates, the game drops you into a cursed realm where you slay monster hordes, loot random-stat gear, and forge your path to break the ancient curse.

Inspired by dungeon crawlers and roguelites like Risk of Rain, the experience rewards build experimentation over fixed class roles. Every weapon carries unique affixes, every talent choice shapes your combat rhythm, and buffs and curses interact in ways that demand strategic thinking.

  • 100+ talents across Power, Agile, and Wisdom attributes
  • Weapons with dozens of random affixes — no two drops are identical
  • Dozens of buffs and curses that counter and synergize
  • No fixed classes — growth driven by talents and equipped weapons
  • Melee swords, magic staffs, and ranged bows with distinct playstyles

Controls

Master these bindings early — combat speed and skill timing define your survival in higher zones.

Movement W, A, S, D
Attack M1 / X Button

Skill 2 F / Y Button
Skill 3 R / L2 Trigger

Core Mechanics

Understanding these systems separates stalled progression from smooth late-game clears.

1

Curse Meter

As the curse meter fills, combat difficulty escalates — enemies hit harder and fights become more punishing. Successfully clearing the meter grants superior loot and rewards. Skilled players intentionally push the meter in farm zones for better drops, while resetting or backing off before boss fights prevents unnecessary deaths. Learn when to embrace the curse and when to mitigate it.

2

Attribute Points & Fury

Each level grants 3 Attribute Points for unlocking talents. Additional points come from titles, gear, accessories, and weapons. Physical builds rely on Fury generation — skills like Rage Slash and passives such as Pain Tolerance and Raging Blood feed your burst windows. Plan talent investments around your weapon type and skill loadout.

3

No Class Restrictions

Any weapon works with any talent tree in theory, but Power talents scale swords, Agile talents enhance bows, and Wisdom talents empower staffs. Hybrid builds are possible but usually underperform focused setups once Abyss and Hell content unlocks.

4

Skill Rolls vs Weapon Tier

A common mistake is chasing S-tier weapon names while ignoring skill rolls. If a B-tier weapon drops with two S-tier skills, keep it until you find a well-rolled S-tier replacement. Skill quality often outweighs base weapon tier in boss fights and late-game grinding.

Beginner Guide

Follow this route from first spawn to steady progression through Adventure content.

  1. 1

Spawn near the overrun village and talk to Bob to receive your starter weapon and quest.

  2. 2

Slay 15 Farmer Zombies to complete the introductory objective.

  3. 3

Defeat the minor boss to finish the beginner quest chain.

  4. 4

Use the portal next to Bob to return to the main lobby hub.

  5. 5

Upgrade your best random-stat weapon at the blacksmith with monster materials.

  6. 6

Grind higher-level zones for XP, skill unlocks, and better gear drops.

  7. 7

Manage the curse meter for bonus rewards once you are comfortable with combat.

  8. 8

Save Lanterns for race rerolls once you understand your preferred playstyle.

Weapons Tier List

Weapon tier reflects endgame performance with good skill rolls. Base ATK, attack speed, and affix synergy all matter.

S Tier

DrgWing, GdnBlade, EndIsBlade, SunBlade

Top-tier base ATK and scaling for boss fights and late-game farming.

A Tier

Divinity, Odyss, RuneBlade, EmpBlade, Dark Magic Bow

Strong alternatives with excellent skill compatibility.

B Tier

Leviathan, Sniper, Living Wood, Falcon, DkBlade, Blood Staff

Solid mid-game options; upgrade affixes before replacing.

C Tier

Bone Crush, Mage's Staff, KntBlade, WildBlade, Arcane Bow

Usable with great skill rolls; replace when better drops appear.

D Tier

Iron Sword, Apprentice Wand, Antler Bow, Jungle Staff, Bone Bow

Starter tier — upgrade or replace as soon as possible.

Skills Tier List

Skills define burst windows and clear speed. Prioritize these when rolling or selecting loadouts.

S Tier

Rage Slash, Wrath, Step Slash, Tactical Support, Lightning Arrows, Spell Volley, Detonation Magic

Best-in-slot for PvE, boss DPS, and group clear.

A Tier

Frost Arrows, Frost Storm, Armor

Reliable utility and sustained damage.

B Tier

Piercing Arrows, Lightning Storm

Situational but viable in specific builds.

C Tier

Arrow Volley, Cleave, Fireball, Scorch Ray, Excalibur

Early-game fillers — replace as better skills unlock.

Races Guide

Seven races with three variants each grant exclusive passive abilities. Variant rarity affects stat scaling — stronger variants drop less often.

Reroll & Refine with Lanterns

Visit the Race Menu to spend Lanterns on rerolls. Purple Lanterns are standard; orange/red Lanterns offer better luck. Refine your current race instead of rerolling to level passives without changing race. Lanterns drop from Adventure Mode, Abyss [Hard], and Hell — stockpile before committing to expensive reroll sessions.

Dragonkin

S Tier

Strongest scaling via Land Wyrm and Sky Wyrm evolutions. Best for virtually all endgame builds.

Angels

A Tier

Balanced utility and reliable late-game progression.

Demons

A Tier

Aggressive damage-focused passives for burst combat styles.

Mechanoids

B Tier

Decent utility for grinding but lower ceiling than top tiers.

Beastmen

B Tier

Dependable for regular farming and mid-game content.

Elves

C Tier

Smoother early game but weaker damage scaling later.

Dwarves

C Tier

Adequate early progression; outpaced once stronger races unlock.

Talents Overview

Over 100 talents split across three attribute trees. Points cost 5, 10, 20, 30, or 50 depending on power — 50-point talents are build-defining capstones.

You gain 3 Attribute Points per level. Plan your path toward 30- and 50-point capstones rather than spreading points thinly.

Power

Swords / Melee

Physical damage, Fury generation, stun, and survivability.

  • Brute Strength — +1% damage per 10 Strength
  • Titan — stun chance and duration boost
  • Omnipotent — +100% physical or +30% magic at 10 Strength/Wisdom talents
  • Heavy Ordnance, Overwhelming — top Fury burst picks

Agile

Bows / Ranged

Attack speed, movement, Swiftness stacks, and elemental synergy.

  • Swift Stride — movement speed boost
  • Beastial Fury — Strength from Agility scaling
  • Winter's Grasp — attack speed per Wisdom point (high-risk build)
  • Elemental Carapace — resistance when balanced across attributes

Wisdom

Staffs / Magic

Magic damage, mana manipulation, and status effect builds.

  • Eldritch Mana — extreme mana pool tradeoffs
  • Blood Source, Sea of Blood — sustain and magic scaling
  • Feral — status effect focus with physical tradeoff
  • Detonation Magic synergy for AOE staff builds

Accessories Tier List

Accessories provide passive effects and Luck base stats. Match effects to your weapon and skill setup.

S Tier

Original Sin, Giantslayer, Prodigy, Proliferating Plating, Eagle Eye, Callus

Eagle Eye ignores enemy Resistance; Callus converts physical damage taken into sustain; Proliferating Plating adds massive HP.

A Tier

Graceful Mind, Blood Oath, Eternal Heart, Talisman, Cuirass, Hades Emissary

Strong all-around picks for most playstyles.

B Tier

Resentment, Mind

Situational — evaluate against your build goals.

C Tier

Grace

Usable early; replace in late game.

D Tier

Smuggler

Weakest accessory — avoid unless nothing else available.

Crafting & Blacksmith

The blacksmith is your primary power spike between zone unlocks.

  • Upgrade equipped weapons and gear using materials dropped by monsters.
  • Craft rare cursed blades that often exceed random dungeon drops in base stats.
  • Reforge weapons to reroll affixes — use divine stones to lock desirable affixes during rerolls.
  • Prioritize upgrading your main weapon before side gear unless a accessory offers a build-defining effect.
  • Abyss dungeons provide high-tier crafting materials needed for endgame forging.

Maps & Game Modes

Progress through zones of increasing difficulty. Each area requires defeating specific enemies and bosses to advance.

Adventure Mode

Main progression path. Farm XP, materials, and purple Lanterns for race rerolls.

Abyss [Hard]

High-difficulty dungeon with superior loot and crafting materials. Unlock after reaching appropriate level.

Hell

Endgame challenge content. Source of rare Lanterns and top-tier drops for optimized builds.
